Sohar International recently supported ‘Jalsat Mulhimoon’ - a platform to inspire the youth of tomorrow organised by Coach4Change, as official sponsors.

Held under the auspice of Dr Ali Saud Al Bemani, vice chancellor of Sultan Qaboos University, the seminar focused on inspiring the youth from a scientific perspective in addition to its other valuable impacts.

The organised event focused on ‘Inspiring Young People’ and aimed at encouraging the youth to find alternatives and turning challenges into opportunities.

The forum presented a successful Youth model that was inspirational yet exposed to the young minds present there on ways of common sense. The talks sparked the youth with motivation and guided them to trust their capabilities in achieving success.

Mazin Al Raisi, senior assistant general manager – marketing and customer experience, Sohar International, said: “As a bank with a purpose to enable people ‘win’, it is important for us to continue supporting initiatives that touch the lives of the youth and inspire them which may result in them contributing further to the society in the long run.”

“Oman as a nation has a large pool of talented youth and we commend the work of the organisers for the successful event and the large turnout,” Al Raisi added.

The event started with the welcoming address setting the tone for event, followed by a brief introduction of the guests, inviting them on stage to share their viewpoints.

Following the speeches, a panel discussion on the same concept took place. The forum then opened up for an interactive Q and A session with the audience, to discuss the highlights of the evening. The event then came to a close with a draw conducted for the audience present there with the felicitated five winners winning a prize of OR100 ($259.74) for each. Lastly, the guests were felicitated with a vote of thanks, awarding them with a small memento presented to the sponsors followed by a group photo.

Dr Lamya Al Haj, assistant professor at Sultan Qaboos University and founder of Coach4Change, said: “The sultanate is rich with young bright minds that will continue leading this nation to further heights and prosperity.”

“Jalsat Mulhimoon aims at harnessing and cultivating local and regional experiences to further inspire the youth of this beloved nation expanding their horizons and therefore creating opportunities and innovation,” he said.

“We thank Sohar International for their support of such initiatives that touch the nation and have an overall positive impact on the community,” he added.

It is worth mentioning that Sohar International remains steadfast in promoting the progression of a highly accomplished national workforce through its participation and support of events of this regard.

The bank has launched important initiatives such as ‘Tomohi – Enhancing Omani Youth Skills Internship Program’, enabling young Omani graduates to unlock their potentials, build their skills and enhance their employability.

The successful conclusion of ‘Jalsat Mulhimoon’ sponsored by the bank is another feather in the Bank’s cap; as it has been pioneering and supporting youth-centric initiatives that encourage inventive thinking, entrepreneurial spirit and the overall development of a proficient national workforce, it stated. – TradeArabia News Service
