Project Overview


Background

Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) is on track to build a new molten sulphur forming facility at its Mina Al Ahmadi refinery, Ahmadi governorate.

Mina Al Ahmadi refinery, located south of Kuwait City, is the country’s largest oil-processing plant with a capacity of about 460,000 barrels a day.


Scope of Work

Construction of:

  • Belt conveyor system to the new longitudinal stockyard
  • Belt conveyor system to the new ship loader, 1500 t/h
  • Covered longitudinal stockyard for solid sulphur, 145,000 t
  • Dust suppression system to avoid dust emissions in the plant and port
  • Four liquid sulphur storage tanks with a capacity of 4,783 each
  • Four liquid sulhur feed Pumps with a capacity of 165 each
  • Five additional granulator units and integration with the existing units
  • Independent Solid Sulphur Pier for 60,000 DWT ships (Off-Shore work)
  • Reclaiming machine, 1500 t/h
  • Ship Loader, 1500 t/h
  • Stacking machine, 300 t/h
  • State of the art Instrumentation, communication, safety, fire detection and firefighting system
