Project Overview


A joint venture was created between Solidere & Ajman Government in order to develop Al Zorah. The project is a free zone and freehold status master plan that will consist of multiple phases. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2020.

Scope of Work

The project will involve an inland creek extending over 2 square kilometers wetlands. The golf course covers 700,000 square meters and consist of 18-hole par-72. It will also feature 120 parcels within a high rise spine extending a 3 kilometer long with 2.6 million square meter gross floor area.

Additional Notes

Al Zorah Development is a company established to develop and operate the project in order to position Al Zorah as a vibrant tourist destination.

Arup is responsible in practicing their well-known sustainability consultancy works for the scheme.

Dar Al Handasah has been awarded the design and infrastructure contract for the major project alongside COWI Leading Consultant Group assistance. Dar Al Handasah's responsibilities included the following:

  • Tendering documents
  • Preliminary and detailed design
  • Infrastructure utilities constructional supervision

Solidere is responsible for the master plan, strategy, marketing, professional services, and projects development. Visionnaire Development Consulting is assisting Solidere with the master plan as well as preliminary feasibility studies. Part of their job also includes translating the tenets of the development strategy into a new master plan with a particular focus on phase one.

As part of Visionnaire's responsibility, they will also prepare development briefs, regulatory plans, urban development and architectural guidelines for saleable 120 parcels within the high rise spine.

China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd. Is responsible for marine and concrete engineering works for package 1 of the scheme.

Ajman Investment & Marketing Services (AIMS Group) has been awarded the enabling works contract for the major project.

Design of the hotels was awarded to NORR Limited and Lissoni Associates.

BESIX has been awarded the EPC contract for the five star hotel in Al Zorah for phase 2 works which include carrying out construction, maintenance and completion of the scheme in hand.

EIH Limited will be responsible for operating the Oberoi resort in Al Zorah Development.

Nicklaus Design has been appointed by the clients to carry out the design services for the championship golf course.

Proscape Group is responsible for constructing the golf course and for MEP services.

Troon Golf will be the operator for the golf course.

Turf Ecosystems will carry out site assessment for the golf course and will use their new development called Platinum TE.
